    vxr intake grate

which grate does not slow it down in smooth water. from what I read on here the farthing plate seems to be the way to go on this ski but intake grates are all over the place. R & D breaks and Riva stainless slows it down at what speed does it have to be replaced. any buck issues on this ski. or can I just keep the stock one.

the aquavein 2 is a huge drag on the ski, but it serves it purpose, i have the sec gen aquavein that wont break, and a Riva SS grate, for where i ride, the R&D and Riva work about the same

I found it better than the ss grate for my riding style and water conditions. I tried them all. I bought the rd from ricky bobby and i swap back n forth from stocker to rd grate just to compare. The stocker isnt bad but above 72 mph i do worry about it failing

i also have the 2nd gen grate. i have no issues at all. when i was out in the ocean last fall and choppy lakes the ss grate was the shit !! but now the rare occasions i am out there the throttle takes care of lack of capability of grate choice...
