Glad to be new Greenhulk member with a 2012 yamaha VXR

    Hi everyone,

Just want to thank you guys for all the information posted which has helped me out alot in process of modding my VXR.
I do have one question, Has anyone removed the exhaust valve on the stock exhaust system of the VXR?
Item #18 it looks like this item can be somewhat of a restriction on the exhaust flow on the VXR.

I found out what you are looking for. I don't think it is as much as you think. You have a dyi free flow? If you run it and see it moves with the air flow pretty easily. Btw 18 in the pic.

He's talking about the gasket at the exhaust outlet. It can't be removed completely as it is a gasket. But you can cut out the inner pie pieces. I just recently did this 2 weeks ago. I have the freeflow exhaust and wanted to see if it changed the drone sound. The exhaust is a bit louder now. But, the pitch has changed and the drone is gone. At least to my ears anyway and i've had the freeflow on it for 4 years.

Thanks guys for clearing it up. From looking at the picture I thought it was a solid piece and looked somewhat restrictive (new to PCW'S). Thanks to brayntjopplin I do have a diy free flow exhaust, other mods that I have done includes cold air intake and the ribbon delete. I think the next set of mods will be the free flow water box, through hull exhaust and an R2 flash.
