2010 Rxt 215 Will not move

Ok I just purchased 2 2010 rxt after unloading them at my local lake my little brother took off on his and mine would not move when I squeezed the throttle the RPMs shot up to about 6k but ski did not budge...after I loaded back into the trailer I took a look underneath and noticed that there was a can wedged between a fan and the cylender its housed in once I put the ski back into the water it did the same thing...what could be wrong . Take it easy this is my first pwc

You have stuff in your intake causeing cavitation. I discribe it like your just spinning the tires on yoour car like a burn out. Remove all the trash (Can ) out of your pump and try again.

If you've sucked stuff into it you've probably damaged the impeller and wear ring.
The impeller sits inside the wear ring and when the impeller turns it sucks water thru and propels you forward.
Damage to the impeller and west ring can be fixed.
The wear ring is the white material ring around te impeller.
Get under the ski and look into the intake grate.
If you see dings on the impeller or scars in the white outer ring then your not going to take off like you should.
Either you were in way to shallow of water when you put your ski in or somebody purposely put stuff in there..

If your new there are threads on how to replace the wear ring but if the impeller is dinged then it might need to be professionally reconditioned..

Ok I'll checked it out there is a small ring where it looks like something dug into ( probably the can I found lodged between the impeller and wear ring)

The wear ring is trashed then.
You need that ring to be smooth and tight on the impeller.
If its not then its going to barely move in the water.
The wear ring is only $50 and there are many threads on how to replace it.
It's a common wear item. Just sucks that you haven't even rode it yet...
If the impeller is dinged or has a rash on the outer edge its in need of some refurbishing...
The gap between the impeller and ring is very very tight. If its not then your performance is in the crapper...

get us a pic if you can and go out and try again with out the can in the pump. It may be ok for now, as the wear rings can take some damage. (The more fudged up the wear ring the more you lose performance or thrust.) In my lake I cant just change wear rings evertime I get stuff in the pump, because thats every fricking time out. Lots of trash It pisses me off.

    This thread may help:

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=137116

Order 2 wear rings and keep one for a spare, because this WILL happen again.

Once the pump is out, put it and the new wear ring in your freezer for 45 minutes. The old wear ring should fall out of the pump or be very easy to remove. Install the new wear ring and your done.
