Thread: Aftermarket Gunwhale.

Where can I get an aftermarket Gunwhale for my FZR. I see the black Gunwhale all around is pretty popular and I'm thinking of getting that one. Any suggestions or even pictures would be greatly appreciated.

For what its worth there is a lot of VXR guys on here who went to the black including myself and it looks way better most of us felt the gray made the ski look cheap. I got mine from the greenhulk performance store. I know it is not an FZR but have a look here if you want to see the black there is a blue VXR done to see what the blue looks like.

The black gunwhale and bumpers are OEM stock on the 2013 models.
Here is a thread showing a few FZ's that have been changed. The last post is Gus' Blue FZR like yours http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...=199781&page=3
Jerry sells the conversion kit in the store. It includes the 2013 grey/silver inserts. You can use your existing black inserts if you like. http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2209

I used SS nuts/bolts to replace mine instead of the factory rivets. There's a "How To" thread in the Yamaha section once you get the parts.

I went black and won't go back. The grey was cheesy looking. The black looks way better. I don't have a good pic to post though.

Thanks everyone. I was kinda looking for something a little aftermarket but the 2013 Gunwhale looks really good and I don't mind getting it at all. But does it fade like the ones that come on the 09 FZR ?

Gonna be too soon to tell. I do keep my ski in garage so its only exposed to the sun when I'm riding. They seem to be of very good quality so I'm sure you'll get a bunch of seasons out of them before any real fading would occur. On a side note if you go the SS nut/bolt route like I did they are easy enough to change out an not terribly expensive.
