How much of a disaster could this be?

brought this ultra 250 2007 end of last year ski had 29hr you can see it was abused but ran good and I picked it up for $4500. came on the site to see what to watch out for and saw thread to make sure you kept your pulley clean. I checked mine yesterday and it looked like this.

Looks a bit of a mess, If it were me I would do the follow:

-New pulleys, OEM rogue racing, clean cush drive part and paint
    -New belt
    -remove & clean SC, inspect rota's. -
-Drill SC upper manifold bit and ad blanking bolt for future fogging.
    -refit all without plastic guard

unfortunatly thats what they all look like unless the owner has removed the cover and discovered the mess. you could try and remove it but my bet you may damage the snout removing the pulley. if you can get it off get it bead plasted and refit it and then spray it with fluid film after every ride or buy the rogue pulleys.

I haven't taken it apart yet but he gave me a work order from dealer that it was just cleaned. it looked like he ran it in low water and sucked up some sand

Guess you guys missed the part where the damapaner has fallen apart. You need a new pulley assy as they don't sell that part by itself and from experience when that part goes out your sc is going or gone.

I totally agree about pulley falling apart but why do you think the sc is going?
