Whats It take to get a 06 RXT to consistently do 80 mph??
Whats It take to get a 06 RXT to consistently do 80 mph?? Is it possible with out spending thousands more?
My setup is in my sig. Last outing my rpms where at 8100 ish at 72 mph (gps app dosen't do tenths of a mph) My limiter is at 8650 rpm.
I tweeked the prop and filled the ride plate holes, hope to be testing it out later today.
Im thinking a ride plate mod and hull tuning will net some speed also.
I want it to hit 80 mph consistantly not just "that one time".

Get it to rev to 8600 by taking some of the prop out. Should be 75+ easy. I think you will need a bit more boost to really break the mark "easy" tho. 2rude!

andy i believe the rxt has the edge on everything minus top end because the weight i pefer the rxt hull to the rxp ride wise. if you want just a full on top speed flat water machine get the rxp. i think its tough to have a reliable 80mph in the heat of summer sc ski period minus a conversion ski. i think a turbo would be the ticket no sweat 80's all day

you should be at least 78 with that in cool weather. Where are you located? There a few guys touching 80 with the 137+4. That IC is probably holding you back some. I'd stick with the 15/20 and just get the revs up and switch rings if need be.
You sure your engine is aligned properly? Ride plate to grate leveled? No ride plate goop overhanging? Nothing hanging out in the tunnel?
Also get yourself "speedview". It will tell you how many satellites you're connecting to and you can exclude those that are too far away. Very accurate and it's what I now use

80 is not easily obtained especially on a 3 seater, will it do 80mph with the right conditions with your setup yes no doubt. will it do it during the summer with a full tank and a choppy lake probably not.

9000 rpms, 15 plus lbs boost, good icer, good prop and wear ring, good rideplate.

it is a beast i been looking at some vids of my ski going by and i think the key to making the 3 seater fast lies in getting the nose out of the water. thinking about a custom extended nozzle ?
