Lookin at first rxp some newb questions
Have a 03 rxdi now and looking at getting one of these rxps to mod.
first I want a ski that goes 80+ if possible mid 80s. Gives me two options stage 3 or turbo. Which one and why? Also how hard is it to work on these things (I am hands on have a 01 cobra grudge car I do alot of work on)
what year should I look at? I see this rxpx bucking problem above 80? Is that All x's? Or just the newest ones? Any specific year I should go for?
how reliable are these? I don't ride in the ocean biggest waves might be 3-4 feet from big boats. How about jumping these things?

IMO it takes about 15psi boost to get to the mid 80's
and the older skis seem easier to get into the 80's (like 2005)
last 80mph and jumping do not mix unless you want a yard sale

Get ready to open your checkbook, do a ton of wrenching, and even more swearing if your looking for mid 80's. Buy a conversion and be done with it.

Lol yes I know 80 and jumping would be deadly I'm talking like 20 and jumping
As far as money I got about 12 grand to blow less the better little more o well

12g is on the low side but doable
No stand alone ecu just a piggyback system

IMO 12K is doable but you would have to do most of the work!! Boost and Electronics alone will cost you almost between 3k to 4k. An older ski will be around 5 to 7K and all the supporting mods will be some more Ks. Thats close to what i have invested and running mid 80s right now......

Did you buy the riva stage 3 kit? I see there a hair over 6 grand
Any cheaper ways?
I know they got you coming from the car world lol everything gets costly as you start going faster
Is the riva kit complete with everything I would need? And I have no problem taking the motor out and etc I've worked on motors before (heads, cam, etc)

sorry those toy kits wont even get you to 80
you will need about 50 more hp to be in the low 80s
more like a stage 4+ without the fluff
my gtx build in my sig will be in the low/mid 80s

Check on a conversion ski. I've seen them for 6-7k and they are already doing 80+ and they are reliable because its a mostly stock parts in a lighter hull.
When you mod these skis not only is it a pain in the ASS.
But its very very expensive and you shorten there life span dramaticly..
Hell you could buy a conversion that does 80+ and still have money for another ski....

Well maybe I should just get a rxp or rxpx and do a stage 2 and be happy with mid 80s?
