I have the same problem. I checked the ohms between the brown and grey and got only 57 ohms. does that make a bad stator?

Mixing different machines in the same thread often causes confusion, especially when the thread title is for a different year and engine.

57 ohms does seem excessively low for that measurement.

Have you visually inspected the stator for signs of corrosion or damage?

just removed the stator and looks new. no corrosion or rust.
