May weight for the under seat storage?

I'm thinking of using my under seat storage as a cooler, but I was wondering if filling it with ice, and eventually water, would be too heavy and I would end up with the rim cracked and the bin sitting in the bottom of the hull.
Any other suggestions besides that location, and without strapping a cooler to the back.

the under seat storage is very small and the heat wouldnt let the ice last very long.the front compartment would work alot better and there is a rubber plug you can remove so as the ice melts it drains to the bottom of the hull and eventually gets sucked up by the bilge pump.

My friend has done this and after an hour, due to the exhaust heat below, the ice is almost melted.

According to my 2013 FZS. Front storage 11lb, glovebox 2lb and under seat 7lb. I'm sure you could add a support strap under it.

Thanks. Good to know what the manual says, though they are usually very conservative with their numbers.

As long as your not exceeding the max weight of the craft Its probably not gonna matter to add some weight here and there. I keep a 30lb bail out bag down near the waterbox. I have seen everything from 20 gallons of fuel strapped down to 100lb fat sacks for wake boarding.
