Charger washers metal or ceramic ??
Can you tell by the pics if these are metal or ceramic ? Magnet sticks but I'm not sure if it's pickup up the shaft. I just pickup up this 04 RXP so I have no idea of the history other than it has a few goodies on it so I'm hoping the PO changed the washers.

04 chargers were red, that looks black but they seem to resemble ceramics

Charger body is black last two digits of the HIN are 04. The PO must have swapped it at some point. The ski has been tinkered with, looks like some kind of intake with a K&N filter, OPAS block off plates, intake grate and exhaust resonator has been removed. I was hoping if someone knew enough to do this stuff then the washers may have been changed. I have not ridden it yet I'm trying to avoid a $1,500 ride if the washers are ceramic and decide to crap out. If they are metal I would like to ride it to see if there are any problems before deciding what to do with it.

you can tell by the 2 large flat sections on the part that rubs against the outer ceramic washer (splined plate) that the s/c has not been rebuilt so a full rebuild would be wise at this point (shaft kit not just washers)

100% without a doubt ceramic washers on an old 04-05 clutch.
Time for a rebuild!

Washers and bearings...
Glad you knew enough to look at them.

I have owned my share of two stroke Seadoos but I'm new to the 4Tecs so I have been doing some reading and research since I got the 05 GTX a few months ago. The 05 had 62 hours when I bought it and the dealer did the supercharger rebuild at 54 hours with the updated kit so I know that machine is good for a while.
I just got this 04 RXP it has a few issues to sort out and I wanted to do a water test but did not want to risk a ceramic failure.
Full rebuild kit for the charger will be ordered soon thanks for the input.
