    Question Water cooling

    Hi.

Does anyone knows why the water manifold on top of the engine is located on the exhaust side? If you mount it on the intake side, the water must travel further and cool the cylinders better. Anyone who knows if im rigth or wrong?

There is more heat on the exhaust side?

Lots of factors involved in controlling the cooling water circulation. The water jacket hole sizes in the head gaskets are one control point.

In general these engines do not have cooling problems, especially in stock and near stock configurations. In general there is excess cooling capacity available, and overcooling these engines does not make things better.
