    1996 polaris sltx

Hey everyone, i was out on the slh and the sltx tonight and the sltx felt a little weak tonight, i can only get 6200 rpm outta it and 43 mph. It was glass out today too, i raced a freedom today and barely beat him. Maybe its time for a rebuild. What do you think am i just crazy?

How is the condition / clearance of your impeller? Sounds like you have some cavitation.

I agree with John. 6200 RPM is a little low, maybe by 200 RPM, but that could be a factor of elevation and/or air temp/humidity. Check the condition of your jet pump, as well as the sealing of the ride plate and your drive shaft seals.

Well i sprayed my pump bolts with a penetrant but there still seized on there so the worn out pump had to stay in this weekend. I went out this weekend and i was getting 6500 rpms, a little better now. I put an rnd scoop ride plate on and it sticks in the waves a little better.had an opsie though, was riding a friends virage tx on sunday and the manifold bolts came off and it blew the gasket out. The hull filled quickly with water i barely got back but no water in the engine!

Im kinda leaninf on the sltx though as its alot better in differnt water conditions evem though its slower then my 900
