    Instrument cluster failure

I have a 2004 GTX. Water got into the instrument cluster and now it has failed. The display is blank. The ski still runs fine. If I get a used cluster with the DESS key will it start and run? If I purchase a new one, will I have to take it to the dealer to get it programmed? Thanks.

Either way you go you'll have to take it to have the cluster married to the ecu.

I don't think you need to marry the ecu to the cluster on a 2004 ski. I thought that was only on 2006 or newer.

8 is enough is correct. I got a hold of a cluster, plugged it in and it works and the ski starts and runs fine. Thanks all.
