2001 1100 STX D.I. front crank seals leaking

I've got a 2001 1100 stx D I that I had just replaced the front crank seals on due to oil contamination on the stator, CPS sensor, etc...
took it a part replaced the seals, any gaskets needed, installed a used stator assembly, etc..

took it out for a awhile, after a time it quit running on me, so I checked for spark, no spark, started looking for the specific problem: removed the CPS sensor and found it to be once again saturated with oil

So I'm wondering what to do now? does this mean that the crankshaft is the problem?

    Thanks for your feedback

I don't think the crankshaft is the problem. If it was, you would have noticed a rough spot on it right there where the seal rides on it.
Did you pressure test the motor after putting it back together? I ask because that front seal is the only likely way oil is going to get into that front stator area. Did you install the seal with it facing the right direction?
If you have a service manual, look at the picture at the bottom of page 7-7 in the 'engine bottom end' section.

Yes I'm pretty certain all was installed correctly (lip seals in right direction), been working on PWC for over 15 years

It's been a while back since I did the job, so I don't remember all the specifics but I'm thinking the crank might have had a slight wear groove on it from an old seal

Do you think I should try to pressure check it now? even if just to verify

Is there any way a main bearing could be too sloppy causing the crank to move up & down, side to side, too much, etc...

Yes, I would want to pressure test it now to find out if the motor leaks down...and go from there.

Does that crank have a replaceable collar on it for the seal to ride on?

There's a collar at the back, but not up front. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/searc...%29/parts.html
