Fzs cavitating and hitting the rev limiter

I have just about 7 hours on my fzs. I noticed today that when gunning it from a stop or even accelerating hard at low speed im hitting the rev limiter. Only mods on the ski are an r&d intake grate, pump seal kit, and rrr free flow. Ski was fine after i put those parts on and seems to have started after i let a friend ride it. I didn't use and sealant on the intake grate or pump seal kit as there was none stock. Any ideas?

Motor is starting to loosen up at about that time. Making a little more power now than it was before. I've seen 3 FZR/S skis all do the same thing, mine included. Nothing to lose sleep over. You will need a better prop or pump setup eventually. Cavitation is probably the biggest performance battle all FZR/S owners fight.

That's what i was thinking. Feels like it needs more prop. Whats a good choice?

Seems to be getting worse. I'm pulling the pump now to take a look.

i noticed mine seemed to leap ahead in performance at about 7-10hours as well. i wont comment on anything your friend may have done to chip or bend your impeller but for me too the engine seemed to have more go than the propulsion unit knew how to deal with.

i'm moving to power filter, exhaust, ride plate, intake grate, ribbon delete and 13/22 screw. some guys have commented that for these mods the 13/22 might be a little too much (by about 200-350rpm or so) but we'll see how it goes.

Pulled the ride plate and grate. One tiny nick in impeller but nothing looked out of place.
