    Damn Yamaha!

So I bought a new 2007 GP1300R. Wasn't really into the gold side pieces so I took them off. Also took every single decal (safety, warning, and yamaha's) off. I ordered the Blue Metallic side pieces and the purple ones came. Seems Yamaha doesn't make the metallic blue ones anymore and decided to blend the part number together. So I sent them back and ordered the 2005 black ones. So now I will have a 100% black craft. I think it shold look pretty sleek. The registration numbers are in blue and with black trim and maybe a riva or R&D sticker here and there will give it some color. What do you guys think? Has anyone done this?

Also if anyone has the mettalic blue side pieces for sale I will take them.
My Gold ones are for sale by the way!

I also removed the front and rear top loose piece of styrofoam. They don't do **** becasue they are above the waterline and would also only help if your craft was sinkning for some reason. My mechanic said that they don't make it back in anyway when they do work on the craft. Also removed the two plastic pieces that attach to the venting tubes and just ran the tubes straight down. Also trimmed all the zip ties, removed all the decals and took off the handlebar cover. I am painting them black so I can mount my Garmin. I will have pictures. removed a total of about 6 pounds.

Ordering the R&D ride plate, intake grate, trim tabs and pump plug Kit.

Only other thing will be the R&D tripple cooling block.

    Any feedback?

    Pick mine up tomorrow...

Found an 06 GPR for a great price.

Think I will leave it alone and just ride it...we'll see.

I also have a FX HO Cruiser...the three seater for pulling my family around the lake. I hope this GPR is just as reliable as I put 140 hours on the Nor-Cal waterways last year. The GPR should be a lot more fun to rip around on.

What is the consensus...would the GPR be just as reliable being 2-Stroke?

    Wow,
they don't make the blue ones anymore? You sure? They generally make parts for 7 years post model change.

I would say so, far simpler designed ski than a seadoo or a yamaha 4 stroke.

What i like with them, is eveything is accesible to work on.

Only thing, is you kinda have to mod a yamaha, as they cavitate and lack holeshot.

So expect to add, intake grate, pump seal-kit, pump re-inforcement, rideplate.

Boats.net list new part numbers to replace the old ones. Wonder if this is what is going on?
