RXT Isolated air intake from engine heat - CAI

Has anyone built a bulkhead to create a forward CAI (cold air intake) separated from the engine heat similar to the Riva RXTX Power Filter Kit? It seems to make sense, but would it cause the engine to run hot because the intake is not drawing air from the under seat vents?

I added two air vents into the engine compartment after I took these pics. Engine compartment runs at about 125 degrees.

What is the front compartment temperature? I can't read the gauge in the pic.
    Nicely done by the way...

R&D has a Cool Air Vent Plate kit for under the seat, but $50 for what seems to only be two 3" drain covers seems steep.

Yes sir!! I have both the TX and PX and while both have their good points I still seem to favor my TX. Got to love all the room and the ease to which you can gain access through out the entire hull. The S3 seems to be a good combination of top end speed and good handling. Just my 02...

Sounds like the isolation worked out well. Can you say what size vent holes you addded to the bulkhead?
Are those cooking thermometers perminently attached or just for your evaluation of the CAI setup?
I might also add larger vent holes under the seat just to be on the safe side. I'll try a before and after with thermometers and may just leave them there...

Did you notice a performance difference after you put the bulkhead in?

    Lot's of questions...
