    Intercooler Rebuild

Has anyone tired rebuilding their intercooler with a copper core and a brass body (of course with a larger core and lengthening the intercooler)?

    bigger is not always better
and if your getting aluminum corrosion you need to prevent it

when i say big its abt the size of the riva 3rd gen... the reason why am asking about the copper core is because i have had two friends of mine ( both 2011 rxtx) whose intercoolers leaked after one year of riding and they rebuilt theirs with copper cores and are doing really well with at least 50hrs+ .. the reason why they had intercooler leaks was that i found out that they werent reving the skis when they flushed them after each ride.. after each ride i have flushed my ski proper and am now doing 29 hrs.. i pulled the intercooler today and found little aluminum corrosion... just wanted to knw if anyone else did a mod like this?

these Chinese intercoolers work excellent for a stocker or lite mod ski
this one has 3" inlet but you can find them in 2.5" too
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Li...item3a67cc49d0

and it will fit the xs fizzle bracket and hose kit

just completely pulled out the intercooler from the ski.. there is alot of corrosion on both sides of the the intercooler.. looks like am gonna have to be getting a new one.. talked to my friend today with his intercooler which is made of brass. he pulled his one this week pressure tested and its not leaking one bit.. his brass intercooler has up to 50hrs on it so thats really good.. i may jus turn my old intercooler into brass and test it for a while untill i get a new one

Yesterday i fitted it in and took her out for some testing.. 1st of i have a rear exhaust and maneuvering that heavy intercooler in there without moving that exhaust to hook back up the water lines was a bit of a task but with patience i did it.. had no trouble really.. Oem straps fitted back perfectly..

Now at normal engine temps. my oem runs 186F in my climate.. am glad to say that this intercooler runs the same.. i didnt get a good test yet due to my friends ski needing a tow .. but the ski feels great and it pulls hard.. maybe i'd say that it pulls harder than before but i need more riding time with it to check out rpms.. only rode for like abt 30mins in an out.. will post more about it when i get out in the water again
