    Melted the resonator

    So the stock unit got a hole in it and now I need to know if I should replace stock or is there a cheap upgrade ?

    How? I would seriously consider checking your system for debris and make sure everything is pissing like it should

    Instead of buying a new one, delete it and get a free flow pipe!

    Yes do this but find out why it melted. You may have a serious problem that could damage the rest of the exhaust if its not getting the water it needs

    07 RXT over heated when sucked up weeds at idea melted resonator, cleaned out the weeds was riding as slowly filled the ski with water had no idea every thing else was fine after cleared the weeds besides the over heat . I have the ski apart for SC washer and oil change is there any other ports I should check out.
    every thing was fine and normal till still filled with water!

    Find a short alum intercooler pipe to run where the resonator was. Ebay

    where in chicaholand are you? I just removed a stock resonator out of an 07 rxp yesterday for a freeflow. I was going to pitch it if you want it. I am in Wheaton. PM me if you want to grab it.

    Similar happened with my GTI....impeller pump split in half, causing the cooling line to be blocked off. Overheated the exhaust and POP!!! blew a hole right through it. We rewelded a plate over top of it and it was good to go. Not sure if i have a photo of the 'after' tho...held up fine, and had no issues. Welder charged me 20 bucks.

    that's a water box not the resonator
