    2004 GTX SC 185hp 5800rpm Max

I recently bought a 2004 GTX LTD SC that had been laying idles for a number of years. Bone stock ski.
I drained the fuel, change the oil, plugs and filter.
Removed the Supercharger and checked it over. I does still have the ceramic washers but I have the metal ones on order.

After a number of attempts to start the ski I finally got it running. Idles perfectly and sounds smooth. It did backfire several times loudly before I got it going, I put this down to unburned fuel from the previous owner trying to get it going.

So out on the water the ski is sluggish and will max out at 5800-6000rpm.
Plugs are new and I doubt they would have fouled that quickly.
What are the possible causes of my low rpm.

    PLugs
    SC slippage
Boost leak (where can I attach a boost gauge to test pressure.
What type of blow off system is utilised on the 185hp motor.

All help and suggestions are appreciated.

Pull the intake and see if you can spin the sc wheel

Changing the SC ceramic washers is not enough IMO, and it needs a COMPLETE rebuild kit. Send it to Jerry and get it done correctly. The OEM rpm limit is 7650 and should be your goal.
I am sure the current slip is way too low, and your sitting on a time bomb. I would also pull the fuel pump out of the tank and replace it and the filter. Pull the intake manifold off and check for cracks and while its out take the flame arrestor out. I believe you will find the SC is the source of your lack of power.

Don't ride or crank it again with that s/c in it.
Those ceramics are brittle by now and are surely going to break.
Full rebuild of s/c bearings and washers...

Jerry is the definitely way to go for S/C rebuild. Don't even think of riding with those Ceramics in it!
+1 on the flame arrestor remove...(although it's a pig!) Good write on it here in GreenHulk for removal procedures.

    Cheers

Rebuilt the charger today, full rebuild kit. It had the ceramic washers fitted. Test slip with the new parts fitted and it was as per the instruction specs.
Going to sonic clean the injectors and run some injector cleaner also.
Before I stripped the charger down I tested the clutch slip and it was as per spec. So I think something else is going on that is causing my problem.

Water tested earlier today and rpm was still way down at 5800. Suspected I still had a sc problem. After retiring home I removed the plugs to recheck compression. Middle plug was like new, no combustion in the cylinder. Tested the coil stick and it was shot. Only running on 2 cylinders. Going to test again tomorrow with new coil fitted.
    Fingers crossed
