    2012 RXPX-260 Riva Impeller Drama

Originally installed Riva part # SRZ-CD-16/19R-1 (on the box), stamped on the impeller SRZ-15/20R. Install it, come to find out it's pushing my drive shaft into the motor causing the carbon seal to separate from the metal hat it rides against. Result...water in the hull. Luckily it didn't sink as I only rode for about 10 minutes. crazy cavitation on launch but ski ran 3mph faster than previous.

Fast forward (old prop installed ski is fine again). By the way R&D seal is the bomb, no cavitation from launch.

Riva sends me an SRZ-15/22R(stamped on prop)...life is good right!...WRONG! Impeller has exactly the same dimensions(setback) as the SRZ-15/20R.

    Riva's site says I should use a SZR-15/19R.

I was told by Riva, the SZR-15/20R that I got originally was pitched to a 19R..HUH?

FYI, solas.com says I should be using a SRZ-CD-15/21A for stock/light mods. Should I give up on the Riva secret sauce and just get what Solas says?

So anyways I just can't figure out why it's so hard to get me the correct impeller.

Has anyone with 12PX260 purchased a Riva impeller with success? I measured against stock and the solas is 2-3/16ths different than stock. If so please give me the # stamped on the prop.

Purchased a Solas SRZ-CD-15/20 from Rivas for my 2010 TX and had the same problem. Re-installed my original Solas SRX-CD-15/20 (Set back mod .050) and problem gone. Rivas exchanged the prop for a new SRX style prop, took a while but they eventually gave me a new prop. Others have used the SRZ with no issues, not sure what the problem is.

In an 2012/13 RXPX 260 ? Ok I see you do have the PX260. Do you remember what # was stamped to your prop?

I used the Solas chart as previously mentioned SRZ-15/21A to be installed next week

I am sure that you have to use the SRX props on the new RXP260X, not any of the SRZ.

    Whoops! Other way around

The original question was asked based on the boat being a RXP260X so can't help you with an RXT. Totally different hull.

Use the stock rubber nose cone and your problem will go away, the aluminum green nose cone is the problem. I had the exact same issue.

agree it may fix it... did use the solas green cone when u had the drama? I have run a set back srx 15/20, and a tweaked srz 15/21. no probs. but i did split a rubber nose cone last time out...
