    2013 Stx-15f fi warning

Ok just bought this ski Saturday afternoon. Put it in the water for the first time today and all I got was the fi warning. For the fuel injection system. I could not run faster than 3000 rpm. What not is this a pos ski. Did I get ripped off.

Pull the code by putting the ski into service mode, it could be something simple. To enter service mode push and hold both the mode and set buttons in for 5(?) seconds, then tell us what is displayed. Once we know what the code is we can go from there.

code says col1. which book shows injection shut down in cylenders 1 or 4 limiting rps to 4000 due to coil pack.
Im taking this back to the dealer tomorrow when they open. Is kawasaki stx-15f a good ski or should i trade it for a yamaha the only reason i went for this one was it had 160 horsepower aposed to the 110 horsepower yamaha. I want something dependable. and this scars me that the first time i put it in the water it came up with a code. any help before tomorrow would be great.

    Thanks

The STX is a fine ski-I think you just have a simple failure. I traded my Yamaha FZR for a new '12 STX-15F and it has worked great for me. Hopefully the dealer will have the parts in stock if it needs anything.

Thanks, I guess im just really frustrated. i have a 1995 polaris sl 750 that i just rebuilt the carbs on and put a new 3 outlet fuel pump on it because it was bogging down and would not get up to any real speed. well i thought I had water running to it but my hose has a kink and the engine locked up on me saterday morning. So i went to buy this ski so I could have fun while overhauling my old ski, and this happens the very first time i start it up. what bad luck

15f's are very reliable, get it back to the dealer asap to get the problem solved. Once you ride a properly running 15f, you won't want to mess with that old 750 anymore.

Yep, get it to the dealer. I have a 15f with 460 hrs and it still runs great, so they're fine ski's... Although, I also have a SHO and love it too.
