One Headache and sheered Riva Grate later...

Just got up to Maine for my annual vacation, went for an early morning WOT run and everything was great, until I rounded the last corner of the lake at 74-75.

That's when the ski lifted up and cut speed instantly, slamming me into the handlebars and into the lake.

Mounted back and and idled to the dock with one hell of a headache. Pulled the ski and found this :

The Riva grate sheered right off, bolts still intact. Anyone ever seen this before? It's been on for four years now, it was never over torqued beached, or damaged in anyway.

Worst part is that I'm stuck without a ski on day one of my Vacation! anyone in near Maine with a stock grate I can buy for cheap??

    Idk what to do!

I have a customers ski in my shop now that was bought with a Riva Grate on it. I told him several times to get it off and put a R&D or Worx on there. He brought it in for a r&d pump seal, and other work , I looked under and there is hairline cracks right where yours broke.

    Replacing it with this one:

Does anyone know if Jerry overnights? What's recommended, Worx or R&D?

Next day air......but its not cheap! R&D!

Also, you need to check if any part of the grate went into the tunnel/pump.......

happened to me. Be lucky it stayed in tact and didn't go through the pump. Fing garbage. R&D. You'd think after the first 100 failures they'd make some improvements.
