    Intake Grate

Want to purchase a new intake grate soon which one is the best for 2012 VXR ? Is it an easy install? Going to also get the pump seal kit any problems during install I should know about? Tips or tricks? I am also going to send my ride plate to Jim to get it modded in the offseason will it need shims before I put it back on? I'm new to all this just want more hookup and speed

I hear the R&D Aquavien V1 is good for a stockish ski that isn't doing closed course racing.

You will want the aquavein 1. Anything else is way to much top loading. We don't have enough power to use it. I would get the pump seal kit for sure. Keeps the air and water from hitting voids in the pump area.

How did you get bucked? The grate will keep you pulled down more so no bounce but less mph. Also how are you not getting bounce at 67-68 mph stock? From what is on the forum seems like everyone has in its stock form. I get it and it makes it hard to get faster.

Guys the aqua vein "1" is the bad one and should have been returned. Thats the one Julio had on when it snapped and he wrecked. U want aqua vien 2 or the riva SS . I am still using the stock grate and at 73mph but I like the fact that the r&d grate is beefier and I just swapped it back over yesterday. As for the "bounce" some have it some don't . I have never experienced it but common fix is shimming plate.

If you are going to swap grates spend the extra couple bucks and get the plug kit for grate and transom it's worth it
