    Pump Wedge Question

I see that Riva claims a top end speed increase with the wedge but I've heard they are not worth it due to the craft bouncing a lot with them installed? 06 RXP 12 hours, X Charger, 42#'s, R&D Grate, 14/19 tweaked, BOV, Hulk box, exhaust through hull, reverse bucket mod and intake and catch can. Will be adding and ext IC and 15/20 soon. Just thought I'd get some opinions on them to see if it's worth it or not

A wedge works well on that hull. Get the wedge and steering rod extension. It will help get the hull out of the water for more top speed.

Wont cause the ski to bounce too much? Will I actually see the advertised gains?

Bounce depends on other factors too. What ride plate are you running? Are you running opas?
Gains are also dependent on mods. You will see more of a gain on a modded ski vs a stock ski.

Mods listed in first post, stock ride plate since I still have factory closed loop. Will be installing the extended length opas block offs when I install the IC and 15/20

The extended length opas block offs you're installing will be the key to making the ski stay planted

My buddys 06 rxp has the wedge but not the extension rods.
The mechanic who installed the wedge said not waist $$$ on the extension.

My buddys 06 rxp is fine without the extension.

I've never cared for the extension rod because I don't race, but it is worth noting that no extension rod means not being able to trim down as far as you can stock.

It's worth a solid speed gain and won't porpoise (spelling?) unless you get crazy with a sander and remove the hook from the fiberglass hull. RXP's have a hellacious hook built in 'em. You won't bounce unless you use the wedge and run your trim waaaay to high. Another speed gain is a different ride plate or altering your stock plate.
