    Weight Reduction

Ok whos doing it? Us RXP/T guys only have small options so far, c/f-f/g hood and seats, etc. so what else can we do?

How much would we benefit from removing the foam?

The foam in the RXP only weighs 8 lbs. I HIGHLY recommend you do not remove it. Ask me how i know

Its not worth the 8 lbs savings.

Removing the foam? You have a better chance of going faster after going to the bathroom...

I could be a smart ass and suggest hitting the gym, but I'll leave those remarks to the professionals

Ya I just went and looked inside the ski and theres really not as much foam as I was thinking. . .

Theres gotta be other ways to scrap some weight?

FYI; I weigh 150ish #s, so when I hit the gym I try to build not lose

The 2007 RXT is said to be about 50lbs. lighter than earlier years. I have been told they lightened the hull. That scares me a bit! I was also told no weight changes to the RXP were done this year.

jay... did you see how i killed a few lbs on my RXP?

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20145

also... while weight is a factor, the RXP hull has alot of wet surface area at top speed... look at a GPR at top speed and compare it to an RXP... RXP has like an extra 12" of wet surface area in front of the intake grate... an aftermarket rideplate is going to change that by bringing the ski higher out of the water and chopping off several inches of contact area in front of the intake grate.

focus more on putting the weight to the rear of the ski... move the fire extingiusher, move the battery, run on an empty tank of gas, lighten the hood.... the front 3 feet of the ski will encapsulate almost nothing but fiberglass, so that might help getting the bow out of the water more

    Talking

I removed the foam from the rear of my RXP just for space. I wouldn`t from the front though. I want the nose up at least to find it.
