Hi all,

How difficult would it be to swap the motors of a 2000 XL800 and a 1997 GP1200? I have a GP1200 with a good motor and might try to score a XL800 for $300. The XL800's motor has been removed (but is supposedly good) and it will need a new impeller housing. Just looking for something that's stable for 2 riders..

Here's what I'm planning.

Swap the motors of the 1997 GP1200 and 2000 XL800
Keep the 2001 GP800R that I'm currently rebuilding
Keep the XL800 with 65U motor
Sell the 1997 GP1200 with the 66E motor

Unless that's a crappy idea or the motor swaps won't work.
