    Checking engine with out D.E.S.S

Is there any way to turn an engine over with a the tether?

    It's a 1999 GTX LTD

We just want to see if there is compression and hear it turn over.

Can we just hook booster cables from battery to starter?

There's a black box in the hull. Open it and pull out the circuit board. There is a solenoid that kicks on the starter. If you jump over the solenoid, the starter should kick over. Look for the red wires. Not sure it will start, but it should turn over.

    Perfect. That's what I did.

    Thanks.
