the dreaded first post - 2005 Seadoo GTX 4 tec

We just bought our first ski tonight... A 2005 GTX, 4 tec with 40 hours on it. It is in lovely condition, garage kept. But... it didn't come with a cover (which was odd as it came with so many additional accessories). So my first question is if anyone can recommend a cover for it.

I can get a "SeaDoo" specific cover, but there are several alternate options and would love to hear if there is another good choice. The Seadoo ones are all about $220.

Just putting my toes into the waters of many questions to come...

    Thanks for humoring me...

    Julie

    Welcome aboard the Hulk..

I'd check craigslist for a seadoo factory cover. They are by far the best fitting and longest lasting. They are made with a thick canvas material. I see them for about $100 used.
Your ski is the same hull as the rxt and I think you can get a cover that's from 04-09.

    Rip on...

    Welcome to the forum!

Stick with factory, will last forever.

In 2005, the factory covers were made by Commerical Sewing. I know the owner of a small company that offers really nice covers, and they have their covers made by Commercial Sewing, so they are OE quality, but at half the price. (the owner of this company used to work for Commercial Sewing, and used to race Sea Doos as well in the 90's..)

    Poppy makes a great cover

I also bought a Poppy cover... love it.

In the pictures it looks like a flimsy material but it's pretty heavy duty stuff. Water beads right off it.

    Thanks!

Thanks for all of the suggestions, no luck on Craigslist, but I may look into the Poppy option. Ebay was also full cost. Thanks again!

I had a poppy and do not like the fit verses the OEM one. plus the poppy shredded under some light towing. (I know don't tow with the cover on.....) Long story and I know so......

    I'd stick with OEM.

Either they use the exact same fabric or those are Poppy covers with J&M decals on them.
