    Post Help - 2013 RXT-X Sputtering/ Engine cutting out.

I just bought a new 2013 Sea Doo RXT-X a couple weeks ago and its been trouble free until yesterday. After a hour on the water it started sputtering/stumbling at lower/mid RPM range in touring\normal mode. It was sputtering so bad it would almost die, though it seams fine at idle. First thing I thought was bad gas or fouled spark plug. But I soon dismissed this as it seams to run just fine in Sport & Eco mode...

    Other info.
Ski just turned over 8 hours...
I always use 91 octane 100% gas, no ethanol.
100% fresh water use & flushed after each use.

    Any thoughts?

    Welcome aboard the Hulk!!!

Any codes show on the dash?

Also when running in fresh water you don't need to flush the ski..

It's got a warranty so bring it in..

    Thanks wotxxxsd!

No codes or lights on the dash.

I know it doesn't need to be flushed, but the you haven't need the lakes around here... More like mud holes! LOL Anyway, I always have the water hose out washing it down so its not any trouble.

My dealer is a 210 mile round trip, so I wanted to see if there was something I might be overlooking.

    Thanks wotxxxsd!!

No codes or dummy lights on the dash.

I know flushing its not technically required, but you haven't see the mud holes we call lakes here in Oklahoma.. LOL I always have the hose out washing it down after riding it so its not an inconvenience.

My dealer is over 100 miles away "1-way", plus the down time. So I wanted to do everything I could before taking it in.

Strange that it isn't doing it in sport or eco mode. That would lead me to believe this is isn't mechanical related. My guess would be computer/software related.

Have you tried taking it out since?? Sometimes these glitches just go away.

Maybe a blocked injector. I had the same symptons with my ski, turned out to be small piece of fuel line.

Were the ICs fixed on all the 2013 models?

    I believe they have been.

But I'd assume if he was having any type of mechanical issue it would occur in all modes on the ski.

I think there is a good chance if he takes the ski out again the problem will have resolved itself. If not he needs to head to the dealership.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm planing on taking it back out tomorrow so we'll see what happens then. Hopefully it was just a glitch, if not it will be on its way to the dealership.

Hellbent - Was yours only having a problem in all modes with a blocked injector?

Off topic question. Whats the intercooler mod? I keep reading that people say it should be done, but yet to find out what it is or why.

It's an auxiliary pisser, and very low pressure relief, that's not needed if you split your water lines after the strainer (In my opinion). Some people like to see it coming out. I personally like to watch my IATs
