    Polaris Virage VS Nujet 5.5

    Hi.
Ive tuned my engine quite alot, with fully ported cylinders, Boysen reeds, shaved heads, twin 40mm carbs and a programmable ignition, shortened exhaust pipe, drilled to 83mm (std 81mm)
    Its a twin 700cc engine (now734cc)
It runs like hell, and has alot of power. So i thought i should give it a new impeller to go even faster. I bought a Nujet 5.5 because it should be ok with a tuned engine. But NO. The holeshot was terrible. Took like forever to get it over 5000rpm where the engine really starts to pull, and then it stoped at 6000 rpm. (6900rpm with org. prop)
Now to my question. What if i port the nozzle e few mm? Then mabye the holeshot would be better, and the engine might rev a little higer where it produces more hp?
Mfd shows 63mph with org. prop @6900rpm and [email protected] with Nujet 5.5.

    Anyone have an opinion?

so you LOST 900 rpm yet gained 4 mph, correct?i think the first prop at 6900 rpm would be better as a ported motor would want to run there.my 1200 on a 7.0 nu-jet will only show 68 mph at 6700 rpm

yes, thats correct. I lost 900 rpm and gained 4 mph according to the MFD, not a gps. but still, it went faster. I think itīs because the the nozzle is to small for all the extra wather the Nujet gives?

don't see you being able to bore the stocker out that far.where did you port the motor to run rpm wise??pulling the rpm that far down is just gonna burn it up.i'd stay with the first prop for mph and get a 12/17 skat for takeoff

Can you get a real GPS and test both impellers again?

I'll try to measure it with gps today. But what if i made the nozzle hole a few mm smaller and stuck with the original impeller? Would that make it go faster?

Im not so much for holeshot. More for top speed. Ofcourse i want a great holeshot to, but top speed is more important to me.
