    Virage driveshaft coupler install ?'s

Hi I am tore down and getting ready to remove and reinstall the driveshaft coupler in my 2000 virage 2 cylinder. My shop manual from Polaris says to drop a foot of nylon rope down the pto cylinder to seize the mlotor to remove the coupler. First which is the pto cylinder? Second has anyone done this before in this manner or maybe have a better idea for removal and install. Also on a side note the ski has been converted to premix what are you guys running mix wise 32:1? 40:1? thanks

remove both the spark plugs.on the rear cylinder bring the piston up close to the top turning the old coupler counter clockwise.install the rope keeping enough rope to hold on to.turn till it stops.now you can put a wrench on the coupler to get the old one off.when installing the new one remove the rope and turn the engine clockwise till the piston is almost to the top and put the rope back in and tighten coupler.if it still turns over with the rope in get a bigger rope

Otherwise known around here as the 'rope trick'. Search for that should turn up the how-to detailed instructions.

That info has been posted many times. Search is your friend

The typical fuel to oil ratio for Polaris engines with the oil injection removed is 40:1
During engine break-in it is 32:1

With high quality oils you may be able to run less oil than 40:1
