Zieman Double Trailer Mods
As the title states, we have a two place trailer. We've had it since 2005 when we bought our skis new.
I've decided I need to add a walkway at minimum. Been looking around here & the web for some ideas. Since I have a welder, & think projects like this turn out best when done in metal, metal rails with expanded metal (ie screen). I did see some pics of ones with polished diamond plating, while I think it looks really beautiful when clean, I'm afraid it will be a considerably slippery when wet.
Anybody have a diamond plated walkway? Are my concerns valid?
Another idea I've been kicking around is to make storage area on the bottom of the trailer from just beyond the front of the skis up to the gas can rack, using expanded metal again. Doubling in functionality as a platform to stand and an area to store stuff while in transit. I've seen this done on other's pwc trailers, typically how far below the frame rail do these racks go?
Then I've also considered just laying down expanded on the entire trailer deck. Making it possible to walk anywhere on the trailer. My last pwc trailer that I converted from an ATV trailer had this, and I got to say I miss the ability to walk anywhere.
Any thoughts, ideas or concerns?

I have a zieman double and cant even get my arm between the skis('Doos) when both on the trailer, let alone walk between them.
The expanded metal over the trailer sounds most versatile. As for the under frame carrier - as long as nothing will drag/catch on the road surface, you can go as low as the top of the axle w/o LEO getting uptight.

My diamond plate does not get slick at all. To bad your not by me I have 10" by 8 ft piece in my garage left over from my trailer.

In Colorado, Diamond plate would get too hot to walk on barefoot. My trailer has a carpeted runner....

Yes I would be more concerned of it getting hot rather than slick.

Thanks for the replies! I'm convinced the aluminum diamond plate won't be an issue & should look sharp!
I went & got the metal I needed yesterday. Hopefully I can start on it it tomorrow.
