    stx12f fuel

Advised today to use premium fuel in 12f to stop possible detonation of engine .Especially in hotter climates

    Cheers

I use 87 octane in my 03 12F. It gets ridden in 125* temps of the Colorado River Valley in AZ. That's pretty hot but no problems from running 87 octane. The newer models might have had a ecu change and timing change so they could be different as far as fuel requirements?

I will ask tech guy to check timing on ski under load ,I will also check the dwell on the injectore to see if they are the same as the other ski .I can then compare the ttwo and hopefully get some answers

    Cheers

I had the 12F out this weekend in 101* temps and it ran better than ever. I had last years gas in it still and ran it down to the low fuel buzzer. I don't know if you saw my thread at pwct on my project 12F but if you didn't, you can check it out at http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=64780 ? This is the ex rental I bought with 490 or so hours on it.

Ok got verbal ressponse from Dealer .Apparantly the chopper plate for timing etc has a small dowel in it and the practise is to rattle the plate into place with a rattle gun .If you are unlucky the dowell will bend or break and the timing will be out .They replace the chopper and the dowel and carefully do it up .Not a recall just fix as it happens .I questioned this as I have 2 of them ,thats it .

    Cheers

Wow! A rattle gun? I have to see one of those. Hopefully it rattled it right this time.
