Carbon ring / bellows question ?

I picked up an 04 RXP that needs a little TLC and one of the fixes is a new carbon ring and bellows. All parts are oem, new bellows, carbon ring, O rings on the stainless collar, O rings in the engine PTO and new driveshaft end bumper. Driveshaft and pump etc have been reinstalled as it shows in the shop manual question is how much tension should the bellows apply to the carbon ring / stainless collar ? I can move the bellows rearward away from the collar about 1/4" with one hand. I have not water tested yet but this seems way too easy to move.

As long as it applies a good amount of pressure, to make an even/flat seal all the way around the floating ring, u should be ok.
I can pull mine back some as well, just depends how strong u are I

The 05 manual I have states any compression between 4 and 12 mm is in specification, you would have needed to measure it prior to instillation to get a before and after figure.
