Best place to buy engine rebuild parts?

I have looked at several places online, pwc, sbt, not sure which is better. They want u to ship core and then give u a price if its not perfect. I have a 2001 gpr. Can u put a 1300 motor in or are they different?

Yea, you can find all kind of parts like that, and on Amazon, but there really should be a sticky or something that has the best recommended places in terms of price, quality of parts and delivery speed. Looking on Google is just a gamble.

Seems like a lot of the common parts (pistons, gaskets/seals/ carb kits, etc) would have a very short list of 'best places' to hit.

when cost drives a repair, I have had no problems with aftermarket from any source. When cost is not an issue I always go oem.

some swear on only using oem carb parts, I have had only some very very minor issues with aftermarket.(sbt/wsm et al)

best practice is to inspect everything going into the job with due care.

what's wrong with rebuilding the engine using used oem parts? I will go that route before buying a time bomb from any of these guys. sorry just my opinion , and on this site you will be able to find good used oem parts.
