    So what happened? bent valve? broken rod?

    2005 GTX 185 SC
    100 hours, i just purchased today for a very good price. ($700) its mint it was an older gentleman
    Washers where updated not sure when but there is no sign of them in any of the oil pumps/screens

    Block is trashed, Rod was sticking though the block

    intake valve (black ones) looks to be bent a little, hard to tell in pic, you can see a slight gap, possibly from when rod broke piston just nicked it?, or did it get bend then rod blew?

    Crank looks good bearings look good also little to no wear.
    ill uplaod pics of crank in next post


    Plans are: Rebuild for Wife to ride, (looking for feed back)

    Used set of cases, if i can find a set
    new bearings
    used rod
    used piston
    hone on used cases
    new rings
    timing chain
    new case/head bolts
    used/New intake valves? ill take head apart more tomorrow so see what we can do
    gasket kit

    If any one has anything i might need please let me know

    I have seen this before. Big end failed first everything else happened after. Some say this is a sign of a improper stretch bolts not being stretched properly on the big end of the rod...

    The ski hydro locked at some point and chucked the rod. I see this almost weekly at my shop.

    You will need new cases for sure, I always check my cranks for straightness and obviously a connecting rod.

    What is the easiest way to remove the valves with the head off? Ive search and only tool Ive see is uses with head on?
