    RTX 2007 Depth Finder Install?

I am being told that there is a new way to install these depth finders. I guess there is a program that you apply to the ECU? Can anyone clearify this for me? I guess the new set-up is more accurate! Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but I bought a 2007 depth finder that integrates with the readout in the stock instruments and the dealer couldn't get it to work. They finally came back and said BRP needed to write the software to make it work. I went to another dealer to confirm this; they called BRP, who said it will be about three weeks before they have an update to the ECU to make it work (that was four weeks ago, haven't heard a thing since). It's beyond me why they would sell a depth finder that does not work. The latest ECU update is on rev. 12, and the new one will be rev. 13.

I wouldn't bet it would be more accurate. I'm sure it's nearly the same sensor hardware, it just integrates with the instruments, so you don't have to have a separate display unit for just the depth finder.
