    GPR1300 won't rev

Howdy folks, new guy here. I have a 2003 GP1300 that is acting up. takes off great to around 7000, then within seconds, the rpms fall to 5000. throttle lever half pulled or full pulled it stays at 5000. if i take it under 5000 and then goose it, it revs up to 7000 for a moment then right back to 5000. the first time it did this the thing beeped at me. it has not beeped since and there are no codes when I hold the button. So here is what i have done:

D plate / chip ( converter was not broken)
cleaned power valves (have new style rockers on them)
checked power valve motor turns upon reving are resets when cutting engine off.
    checked water box
    checked intake grate and impeller

when it hits a wake and goes airborne it revs up and then back down. revs all day on the trailer with a quick flick.

The first time it did this was the first timeout this season. ran great last trip of last season. been in a climate controlled garage .

i see alot of post about this, but no solutions beyond cats and power valves....... HELP

When you rev your engine to 7000 rpm on the trailer, there is no load on the engine.... kinda like having your car with jacks on the rear axle, putting it in drive and reving the engine.

Next time you are on the water riding wide open throttle, and the rpms drop to 5000, SLOWLY choke it (or pump your primer if you have one) to see if adding more fuel will get the rpms back up.

If that happens, you can then start thinking about carb rebuilds, fuel filters, flapper valves in the fuel tank, fuel restrictions at the fuel selector switch, etc.

you may have a restricted fuel supply or bad fuel pump. you need to check fuel pressure

I'll check to see if there is a fuel filter on it. Its strange how I can get it to rev more by letting off the throttle a touch and then giving it more gas, just to have the rpms drop back down to 5,000 on the money. The ski feels strong. It pops right out of the water.

Is there anyway to reboot the computer?? could it be stuck is some funky mode? Could the computer be going bad?

I need help here guys. It was embarrasing having by buddy pass me in his old fishing rig!!

when you let go the throttle the flow on the injectors also decrease increasing the fuel pressure on the system . so if the fuel pump somehow is not delivering what the engine needs a wot as soon you give it more throttle the pressure built will decrease , and it will start slowing down rpms.
somehow you need to check fuel pressure.

if you have any electrical issue , the first thing will be a warning beep and engine code. no funky modes on this one. your computer is fine. have you check all the electrical connections for corrosion?

had a similar, but not exact problem with my 06, turned out to be clogged injectors. might be worth a look.

would start and idle fine, but gave the occasional slight bog even on trailer when blipping the throttle, and would rev up on water when airborne for a second or two. then right back down.

a stepping motor will do the same thing. And it will not trip a code most of the times.

First, What is a stepping motor? Secondly I have discovered something. First of all I promise the ski has spark and is getting gas and oil. I Checked all the read valves and put new plugs in the ski and took it back out today. When I got back I checked the plugs . this is what I found.Click image for larger version.

The cylinder is wet and so is the plug. Could an injector blast too much in that one cylinder?
