    03 Genesis I W/NEW TPS idle problem

ok after reading lots of posts about TPS I ordered one from my local dealer and it came off the UPS truck this afternoon. I installed it and now it idles around 2000 + or - 150 rpm. unplug TPS it returns to normal. The old one had no response from throttle. The new one works good just high idle. anyone have any answers. Was that spring end supposed to be around something on throttle body? Any more help with my problems is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ryan

It is important to install the TPS correctly. It should have come with installation instructions.

Did you make note of how the old one was installed when you removed it?

Somewhere I think I posted the install instructions for the updated pigtail TPS

Search on here for the new TPS part number. Might turn up the info.

It came with instructions but really kind of vague. It said some parts were pre assembled but none were. I did make note of how old one was installed and did same way. It did seem that the new spring was kinda big. Ill do another search. Thanks!! Also dealer charged me 87.99 + tax

That spring is a little confusing at first you may have it wrapped backwards

I might have. I just looked at K447's pics and may have installed it with the spring on the wrong side of where the TPS bolts on.

Ok so I got my hands back on the ski and put on trailer. I opened the back up and sure enough the spring was "flopping" around on TPS. Removed and installed correctly and it now idles great. Next time I will pay more attention and I won't forget that ever again.
