Why don't jet ski's have pull starters? Seems stupid. Battery dies in middle of lake your screwed.

I have pull started a V-4 115 Evinrude, yes I was surprised It could be done.
Just get some body to pull you about 25 mph and drop the clutch

I have never seen a PWC with any provision for rope starting.
Yet another reason to buy and install a high quality battery, preferably a factory sealed AGM type such as the Deka ETX16.

Snowmobiles have pull-start cords. When my brother who has been riding sleds first jumped on my jet ski he was amazed that the ski didn't have some sort of pull-start even if it was a secondary.
It's not too bad to pull start a moderate-high compression engine but I can see where an inexperienced rider would fall of trying to pull start a jet ski. It could be entertaining to watch...

I see no need for it. Well maybe Keith could have used it a few weeks ago

Don't the capacitor discharge ignition systems require a battery for operation? Isn't this why when you install a total loss ignition, you can only run so long before the battery dies? Pull start would not do much good if you have no battery juice to power the ignition.... Or am I getting this all wrong?

If it had one... how would you use it in the middle of the lake? You can't exactly stand off to the side of the ski while you pull on it. I guess you could float beside it... but pulling on a cord wouldn't work well while floating. So it would have to be pulled upward while standing on it... so you'd have to remove the seat. Have you tried to remove the seats on the 3 seaters while floating on it?
Seems pull start and kick start options (motorcycles) have all but disappeared. Even in vehicles that used to have them... like the dual sport Kawi KLR... they no longer have them. Guess not enough people want the option anymore that manufactures bother keeping it.
