finally got a 1996 seadoo xp

today was the day for me to finally pull the trigger on a 1996 seadoo xp. I sold my 1997 gtx a few days ago so the hunt began quick so I could be back on the water this weekend. turns out a local guy from me had a really clean xp. I didn't really want to pay his prices but hey you gotta pay to play. love the yellow and like I said it is clean. Click image for larger version.

Mind I ask what state you got this ski from? It looks very familiar. Not many of these 951 conversions out there. What did you give for her?

I live in florida and I bought it from a guy named matt. he is a good guy and in the past my friend bought a great running gsx from him.

It looked a lot like mine till I looked a bit closer is the reason I asked. I sold it to a kid in Georgia. Should run a solid 65mph and as snappy as lightening. Enjoy!

I'm not sure about the accrual mph but the tac only goes to 60 and it pushes way past that. So far it is way more than I can handle. The only draw back I can find is the gas tank is wah to small at 10 gallons. It is a hog so I can kill that tank in about an hour

there was a guy on here that could fit a GTI tank in there at 14 gallons. its a direct fit but no storage bin. I think thats the correct model but its in a thread on here. buy a Garmin Legend Etrex and then see what you top out at...that dream ometer is nowhere near accurate

I don't think this xp has a ton of top speed. It has a stock gtx impeller which does make it explode out of the hole. I would guess it goes high 50's possibly low 60's. But it is the fastest craft I have ever been on to those speeds and that is including the supercharged seadoos

Can you post a couple more pics? I'm about 99% sure that is the 96' 951xp that I built. I see it has some nice additions. I sold it to Matt in FL, good guy. If it is and it still has the same drivetrain, I hit 62 on gps, built it for acceleration / wave jumping (see pic to the left)

Good to see it resurface. Feel free to send me an email/post with any questions (I think we might have spoken over email already). I still lurk around here every once and a while... on to different toys these days, but wanting to get back into a seadoo in the near future.

Hey dean! I believe this is the ski you built. Looking at the pics it looks really familiar. The hull has fiber glass over the hole cut for install. It has covers over the flame arresters. Matt never really road the xp. He has a lot of seadoo's and he said this one was his unicorn. He kept it mint condition ensuring everything works on the thing. Today was my first full day out on it and it was a blast. Gas mileage really stinks on it but there are fill stations all around the water
