Teaching an old dog new tricks.

Why I love the older skis:
    1. Cheap - I have NO MORE than $400 in my old VXR Pro and that includes the Protec grate, ride plate, aqua step, bildge pump and a few other mods.
    2. Small - have your damn couch with eleventy billion horsepower that can do 100mph on the water. I want something I can sling.
    3. Reliable - Premix has been perfect for years.
    4. Just cause.

So anyway...I ride only 5 times a year and this is the third time this year on the waverunners. Still was able to learn a new trick!

Nice, I used to have a blast on my old VXR Pro. When I sold it I had worked it up to the 52+ mark on GPS. Lots of fun on that old hull.

Then somethings wrong with it. GPS speed on a stock VXR Pro will be 45mph. I had a milled head, mild cylinder porting, custom built aluminum waterbox, DG extended ride plate, and Skat 14.5/18.5 impeller. It would outrun our '97 GSi from holeshot all the way to top end. It was crazy fun.

old school FTW! i love my ski, couldnt stand the new electrical bits. and frankly unless youve ridden a new ski, 30+mph on water still feels pretty dam quick. pre mix, manual tuning, basic basic parts and repairs. only thing i wish it had was points instead of the CDI.

I've wrenched on and ridden just about every ski possible up to about an '04 model. The older smaller ones are the most fun and there really is just no need to run any faster than 50 anyway.
