Pump shaft removal .......How????? 08 RXTX

Trying to get pump shaft disconnected from the engine so the engine can be removed.....I'm Not understanding what in the world the manual I have is wanting me to do and the pictures they have in there are crappy........Does anybody know of a link to a video and or step by step idiot proof instructions on how to disengage the clips that are holding the pump shaft in place.

Got a Rod knockin and the motor is about ready to come out except pulling this shaft is kicking my azz.

What I do, first pull the pump and insert a socket inside the impeller where the splines are then install the pump back using two bolts not all. That will push the shaft forward about an inch then you will be able to see the c clip that is under the metal hat. Remove c clip and your done!!

+1...and on the engine re-install, buy or borrow an engine alignment tool to re-align the motor..it`ll save you possible issues further down the road.
I`ve read posts on the forum here about some engine misalignment issues out of the factory...i can testify to that, as mine was way off where it should have been. I bought the alignment tool from SBT and used it when putting my motor back in.
Check your carbon ring and bellows when you have the motor out...just to make sure they are okay. I had small hair line cracks in the carbon ring so i replaced it at the rebuild stage.
