    Unhappy realy dumb question...

Ok this is a really really dumb question but i for the life of me am having a brain fart, and am absolutely over thinking this. But anyways i have a gp760 97 and i am trying to get rid of the porpoising, i read that i should shim my ride plate in the back. so i got my washers and everything but i am confused to what everyone is considering the back of the ride plate. should i put the washers on 2 bolts closest to the bow or to the stern.
