Curious about adding a bilge pump to my '13 RXPX

What do you guys recommend? How do they mount to the hull? How did you guys wire them up?

    Thanks in advance.

mount 2.. and make sure there automatic setting ones.. trust me youll save yourself ... I just used 3m epoxy.. scuffed the hull and held the plate of the pump to the hull..... 2 years and still holding. mine are the rule 500 gph ones

Go big! I run one Rule 1100 and if my carbon seal went, it still wouldn't be enough. If I was going to do it over again, I would run two 800 gph pumps. One auto and one manual wired to the same switch. As for mounting, epoxy the base to the hull like stated above.

Installed two 1000 GPH Johnson pumps with auto water sensor. Made custom SS brackets and mounted to hull ribs using helicoil, SS studs and lock nuts. Removable for maintenance/replacement. Wired separate fuse/switches so they operate independently. If she sinks its not for lack of trying....

With the double pump set up, do you connect them with a Y connector to a single thru-hull port? Also, should I use a check valve before the port so water only flows one way?

I connect each pump to its own thru hull exit port. The Johnson pumps come with a one way flow rubber flapper valve in the discharge tube that can be removed if you like. I left mine in.

No, 2 different thru hull exits for max water displacement. No check valve needed as the thru exits should be mounted well above the water line. The main reason is so that you can see if the bilge pumps are running!

You also should use a Auto-Off-On switch. On to test it prior to riding, Off -duh, Auto for all day riding......if it comes on you know you got an issue.
