    Help: I shouldnt buy this.should I?..

Am talking to a guy who has an old and original HX for sale I want it so bad cause i know the hull handles fantastic and I know if I fall off there isnt any getting back on...
but how unreliable are these things he says it runs a bit rough early on cause the carbys need work but thats it. Is this a silly machine to buy it is nearly 20 years old.
    a 96 seadoo HX

    BUY IT !!!

They have the MOST reliable two stroke EVER (Rotax 720).
It would be critical to swap the fuel lines and clean the crabs but $20 later you have a very fun machine.

The HX's always ran funny..Sometimes the only way to get them to "clean up" and run right was to flop them on their sides, rev them up and then lay it back upright and use the throttle to pull yourself back on... Better have some good upper body strength

buy it cheap. its barely worth $1000 pending condition. after that pull the carbs, clean them, the tank and the fuel selector and ride the hell out of it. its probalby never been gone through the correct way.

i used the leg over trick to get back on.. crawl over to the side of the ski after falling off, tilt it over and grab the bars, hook up the safety lanyard, start it up, throw a leg over the seat, and have that sucker pull you out of the water like your trying to hang on to a pissed off gorilla.. easy, once youve done it a time or two.

I have one and Love it. Ride it in the surf all the time. The 720 motor is one of the most reliable motors seadoo made. Plus they are cheap and easy to rebuild if the blow. Fun ski. A stock one is really slow compared to a rxp but still fun for messing around. Replace the fuel lines, clean out tank, and rebuild carbs and you should be good to go. Here's a pic of mine.

Im assuming that is what will take place...
I can get it for 2700 but it comes on an ok dual (four bunk) trailer so that commands a bit of a premium.
