    Any Guesses on Speed?

My first ride I did 65.8 on GPS with the fuel at buzzer level and 2.5 hours of break-in time.

Tomorrow is my second ride. Changes since last time: I installed a wedge. Cleaned up the silicone (mine was not too bad). On the grate I cleaned up the casting lines, skinnied the rails by about 0.1" and skinnied the cross bar about 0.1". Cleaned up the casting lines in the pump. Matched the shoe to the grate (the shoe was a tad higher which is bad). Resealed everything and filled the bolt holes.

I also got rid of the grease on the pump seal which I hope will eliminate my cavitation.

Any guesses on speed? I hope to do 67.5 by the time the buzzer goes off as a result of the above changes and another 2.5 hours of break-in.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow.

Next up for me is to remove the hook in the last 6 inches or so of the hull. I think I'll try that before the GroupK ride plate. Thoughts?

Just got my Ultra yesterday. I'm so pumped up to take it out. I will be doing some modification after my break in period. I'm always looking forward to the results. Keep us posted man.

You guys inspired me to look under my Ultra LX to see if it suffers from the same silcone and grease mess as your 250X . Yes it, it does. Is it easier to pull the grate off to clean it up? Seems like the grease would just blow thru and not cause cavitation.........but I have yet to get mine wet maybe soon.

Best way to do it is take the ride plate and the intake grate off, they are easier to work with off the ski, plus you can get inside to clean it up in there also.

Thanks, I'll do that then. Seems a shame that they were assembled that sloppy.

you will be surprised how much silicone you will find in the shoe area in side the pump tunnel.
