need advice to fix corrosion issue

Just pulled the ultra 150 out of the garage for summer and rust in every cylinder (engine is toast) ,
It is always flushed and revved after water is turned off and always stored with seat off .
the engine only had 8 hrs on it since last rebuild !!!
any ideas to what it might be and how i can stop this from happening again ?

    cheers

its always good to fog the cylinders so this doesnt happen. the engine can probably be saved, but id tear it down and do a rebuild. we freed up a 4hp outboard this week with rapid tap and WD40 that sat for 3 years locked soild, had it running in 20 minutes. BUT, we dont care about it (it was free).

it sounds to me like condensation. if your just pulling it out now, its gone from cold back to hot.

how can i stop the condensation , pull plugs over winter , start every week etc ?
the mechanic that did the last rebuild has said that it will be toast due to the amount of rust in the plug !

I have learned over the past 18 years that the best thing to do is to keep the battery on a tender . I alway start my engine once a week. I run them dry. Put my hand on the side of the cylinder run the engine till the side turns lightly warm then shut it down. The engine may run for approx 45 to 60 seconds this way. The engine always stays dry. And it keeps the rings and pistons moving.

something like this will help prevent further issues.

I heard stories that if you pour trans fluid or marvel miracle oil in rust cylinders let them sit there for a few weeks then drain the fluids out it will clear most of the rust off to turn over the motor. Not like a rebuild but I heard claims of rusty engine thought were able to start when most thought they were siezed.

yep ATF will do that. turn it over by hand, if it binds go the other direction. id then pull the head and clean the rings and piston/sleeve.

im guessing that the crank will be as bad as the rest and that is what will need the atf ?

You need to fog the motor with oil prior to storage and you will never have this problem again.
