    Exclamation aviation fuel in modified 4tec?

    I'm getting to the point on my PX where I am either gonna have to switch too e85 or race gas

    There is an airport in my town

    Has anyone ever run av gas in there ski and has any input?

    100LL is good stuff, LL means low lead but its just about the most leaded fuel you can find
    and its over 100 octane just about the same a e-85
    our local station sells 105 octane e-85 and 110 octane e-98
    IMO 100 octane is the min for a turbo
    making a meth injection system work in a ski is just asking for trouble
    and one less thing to worry about when using high octane fuel

    How much boost do u think the 100LL is good for on a flashed ECU W/turbo ?

    On my PX at 21 psi I am pushing it on super unleaded need an alternative unless I knock timing back a hair

    Thats why I'm gonna need the 100LL or better, to up the boost.

    AvGas in not a good option for non AV motors.

    It's what our crew has been running for the last two years...I agree Its not the best. It will make a little less power but I cant afford to run race gas every weekend. It costs me $90.00 in AV gas to make our regular 70-80 mile trip. Some of our guys run 10:1 to 11:1 with either a ET 68-140 or a 2 Rude, so definitely not pump gas motors. My ski is 9.5:1 with a ET 68-140, if we had ethanol free 93 here I might give it a try...but during fuel tests we saw ethanol content upwards of 18% in our pump gas in Florida...Not good... Don't believe the sticker at the pump....

    I think its a great alternative to the cheapest race gas around here that is about $9.00 a gallon for 110. I have never blown a motor up on AV gas...my conversion has been 94mph with a 3 Rude. AV gas here is in the $5.50 range right now, so its not terrible. Most people dont know that AV gas is the base stock for most race fuels..not all but the majority.

    My ski is not pump gas friendly IMO. AV gas makes it happy.....


    Andy, can you elaborate why its bad for our motors? I have over 80hrs on this engine so far...whats going to happen to it running AV gas?

    AV gas is way more consistent then any pump or race fuel.
